Abstract

Using a series of 1,2,4,5-tetrazine alkylamino derivatives the peculiarities of their reactivity under acidic nitration conditions were demonstrated. It was found that the degree of nitration of N,N'-dialkyl-1,2,4,5-tetrazine-3,6-diamines is determined by nitric acid concentration and the alkyl substituent at the exocyclic nitrogen atom. A new method of the synthesis of unsymmetrically substituted N,N'-dialkyl-1,2,4,5-tetrazine-3,6-diamines from N-alkyl-1,2,4,5-tetrazine-3-amine N-nitro derivatives was developed.
