Abstract

Doxapram has long been used as intravenously–administered drug for treatment of acute respiratory insufficiency. As a part of our research program toward development of novel respiratory stimulants we were interested in synthesis of Doxapram analogues. Herein we report a concise synthesis of N-methoxypyrrolidinone.
