Abstract

A new method has been developed for the synthesis of 2-phenylproline and its derivatives by intramolecular cyclization of the corresponding derivatives of N-(3-chloro- or 1-oxo-3-chloropropyl)-a-phenylglycine under phase transfer catalysis conditions.
