Abstract

A new series of pyrimido[1,2-a]quinolines have been synthesized in good to excellent yields by rearrangement of N-quinolinylisoxazol-5(2H)-ones, substituted at nitrogen, with 2-chloroquinoline derivatives under mild base-catalysed conditions. This method has the advantage of short synthetic route.
