Abstract

Single stage reactions of 2-formylbenzoic acids with substituted 2-(1-aminoalkyl)phenols and 2-amino-phenylcarbinols give a novel series of isomeric isoindolobenzoxazinones. X-ray analysis was used to study the molecular structure of 9-bromo-5,5-diphenyl-5H-isoindolo[2,1-a][3,1]benzoxazin-11(6aH)-one and 2-bromo-8,10-dimethyl-10H-isoindolo[1,2-b][1,3]-benzoxazin-12(4bH)-one.
