Abstract

A preparatively convenient method was developed for the synthesis of 1-aryl-1H-pyrazole-3,4-dicarboxylic acids based on the alkaline hydrolysis and oxidation of 1-aryl-4-formyl-1H-pyrazole-3‑carboxylic esters with hydrogen peroxide in an aqueous medium.
