Abstract


A convenient method for the synthesis of previously unknown substituted 2-(2-aryl-4-oxo-4H-furo[3,2-c]chromen-3-yl)acetic acids, 2-(2-aryl-6-methyl-4-oxo-4H-furo[3,2-c]pyran-3-yl)acetic acids, and 2-(2-aryl-6-methyl-4-oxo-4,5-dihydrofuro[3,2-c]pyridin-3-yl)acetic acids based on multicomponent condensation of heterocyclic enols with arylglyoxals and Meldrum's acid was developed.
