Abstract

In this paper, a novel method is described for the synthesis of 4(3H)-quinazolinone derivatives via the reaction of isatoic anhydride with benzyl azides in the presence of potassium tert-butoxide in DMSO. The reaction is completed after 4 h at 100 °C to produce the titled products in good yields.
