

ALKYLATION OF IMIDAZOLE AND BENZOTRIAZOLE DERIVATIVES BY 1,3-DIIODOPROPAN-2-ONE IN THE ABSENCE OF A BASE

Abstract
The reaction of imidazole and benzotriazole derivatives with 1,3-diiodopropan-2-one in the absence of bases and catalysts leads to the formation of linear and cyclic salt systems in one preparative step.
