SYNTHESIS, OPTICAL AND ELECTROCHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF D1–A–D2–A–D1 TYPE CONJUGATED DONOR-ACCEPTOR ASSEMBLIES OF FIVE-MEMBERED AROMATIC HETEROCYCLES

Abstract
Novel conjugated systems of the D1-A-D2-A-D1 type were synthesized based on 3.3''-decyl[2.2':5',2''-terthiophene]-5.5''- and 3.3'''-didecyl[2.2':5',2'':5'',2'''-quaterthiophene]-5.5'''-dicarboxylic acids. In obtained systems, two electron-withdrawing heterocycles 1,3,4-thiadiazole or 1,3,4-oxadiazole are separated by alkyl-substituted thiophene units. The optical and electrochemical properties of all the synthesized structures were studied. The influence of the structure of the synthesized compounds on the band gap and the position of the boundary orbitals was established.
