Abstract

3-Alkoxymethyl-5-aryl-1,3,4-oxadiazole-2(3H)-thiones were synthesized. The direction of alkylation of 5-aryl-1,3,4-oxadiazoline-2-thiones and their potassium salts was studied relative to the substrate, alkylating agent, solvent, and reaction conditions.
