Abstract

This mini-review covers the existing methodologies for the synthesis of ortho-carboranes. The most promising approaches to the synthesis of this class of compounds, reported over the last decade, starting from 2013 to the present, have been discussed in detail. Reactions leading to the functionalization of the carborane core were outside the scope of this review.
