New type of condensation of 5-pyrazolones unsubstituted at the nitrogen

Abstract

1,5-Tripyrazolylenes were prepared with satisfactory yields by the reaction of 5-pyrazolones unsubstituted at the nitrogen atom with an equimolar amount of POCl₃ in open vessels together with 5-chloro derivatives (Michaelis reaction).
