In this minireview, we consider the literature reports on 3,3,3-trifluoropropene derivatives featuring sulfur-containing functional groups at positions 1 or 2 that have been used in the synthesis of functionalized five-membered heterocycles – pyrroles, pyrrolines, pyrrolidines, tetrahydrothiophenes, pyrazoles, pyrazolines, pyrazolidines, isoxazoles, isoxazolines, isoxazolidines, and triazoles via [3+2] cycloaddition reactions with 1,3-dipolarophiles.
