Abstract

Addition of enolates of dicarbonyl compounds to 1,3,5-triazinylnitrile oxides, prepared in situ from 2-R-4-R1-1,3,5-triazin-6-ylnitroformaldoximes, led to the formation of 3,4,5-trisubstituted isoxazoles. The X-ray crystal structure of 4-ethoxycarbonyl-3-(2'-methoxy-5-methyl-4'-pyrrolidinyl-1,3,5-triazin-6'-yl)-5-isoxazole is described.
