The synthesis and antimicrobial activity of 6-aryl-2-spiro-substituted 5-trichloroacetyl-4<i>H</i>-1,3-dioxin-4-ones

Abstract

Thermolysis of 5-aryl-4-trichloroacetylfuran-2,3-diones in the presence of cyclic ketones yielded 6-aryl-2-spiro-substituted 5trichloroacetyl-4H-1,3-dioxin-4-ones. The obtained compounds were screened for antimicrobial activity.
