A simple one-pot strategy was followed for the synthesis of 1,3,5-trisubstituted pyrazole derivatives using a Ce-modified porous material Ce-MMZ. This modified form of catalyst was prepared from zeolitic material, and the morphology of the catalyst was characterized by electron microscope, loading level of Ce was determined by EDAX (Energy Dispersive X-Ray Analysis) method. A series of pyrazole derivatives were synthesized using the prepared catalyst in excellent yields, and most of the products were isolated without purification by column chromatography. A plausible mechanism for this reaction was also proposed. Other advantages, like functional tolerance, ease of preparation, and reuse of the catalytic system, as well as an easy recovery of products, were also highlighted.
