ISOMERIC TRIFLUOROMETHYL-α,β-UNSATURATED KETONES AS COMPONENTS FOR PSEUDOCYCLIC REACTIONS

Abstract

The presented article concerns recent applications of 1,1,1-
trifluoro- and 3,3,3-trifluoro-α,β-unsaturated ketones as powerful substrates for obtaining versatile heterocycles via pseudocyclic reactions. These starting materials are easy to obtain by aldol condensation of 1,1,1-trifluoroacetone with aldehydes1 or stepwise procedure using 2-bromo-3,3,3-trifluoropropene as substrate.1c These building blocks were extensively used in synthesis of diverse oxygen-, sulfur-, and nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compounds.
