Abstract

4-[4-(3,6-Dihydro-4-methyl-2H-pyran-3-ylhydroxy)phenylaminocarbonylmethoxy]benzylidene-4′-alkoxyanilines, which have the properties of smectic and nematic liquid crystals, were synthesized.
