Abstract

Ethyl cis- and trans-4-chloro-5-oxo-1,2-diphenylpyrrolidine-2-carboxylate have been synthesized by the cyclization of ethyl N-(α,β-dichloropropionyl)-N-phenyl-α-aminophenylacetate.
