Аннотация

The diverse biological activities of compounds containing N-(hetero)aryl-2-imidazoline moiety and methods to construct them are comprehensively reviewed for the first time. This intriguing non-flat, cyclic amidine motif clearly represents an emerging privileged structure.

Mikhail Krasavin, St. Petersburg State University

Mikhail Krasavin is a Professor of synthetic organic and medicinal chemistry (www.krasavin-group.org) at Saint Petersburg State University (Russia). Prior to assuming this post in 2014, he spent over 10 years in positions of increasing responsibility in pharmaceutical industry (Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Abbott Bioresearch Center, ChemDiv, Inc.) , where he was involved in multiple drug discovery programs in the areas of oncology, metabolic disease, infectious disease and CNS disorders. In 2011-2013 Dr. Krasavin led an independent research group at Eskitis Institute for Drug Discovery (Griffith University) in Brisbane, Australia. Prof. Krasavin has authored more than 100 manuscripts, 8 patents, several book chapters and has consulted various drug discovery and development business entities. In 2016, he was elected a Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
