A novel series of spirochromone-flavonol derivatives were synthesized starting from a monospirochromone moiety using NaOH and H2O2 by a modified Algar–Flynn–Oyamada reaction. In this method, the title compounds were synthesized in good yields without isolating chalcones. The structures of the synthesized compounds have been established on the basis of physical and spectral data (IR, 1H, 13C NMR, and mass spectra). All the newly synthesized compounds were screened for in vitro antimicrobial activity. All the compounds were shown moderate to good antimicrobial activity.A novel series of spirochromone-flavonol derivatives were synthesized starting from a monospirochromone moiety using NaOH and H2O2 by a modified Algar–Flynn–Oyamada reaction.
